Mr Organised. In Tomas' excitement to buy tickets for the Slick Rick, Big Daddy Kane and Rakim gig he managed not to check the location, turns out Long Island is a big old place and an exciting 4 hour bus, train, subway and cab adventure each way meant Hollie needed some warming up beforehand.
Mac n Cheese to the rescue!
But hot damn it was worth it, everybody say "Ladi dadi we likes to party we don't cause trouble we don't bother nobody...."
Over the Brooklyn Bridge into Dumbo, incredible views and gentrification on a par with anything we saw in London
New Sneaks - Thanks Harlem!
JG Melon burger
Chopper ride around the city, unbelievable scenes, a huge huge highlight, thanks to John and Helen for this incredible gift. So cool to see all the places we'd been around this staggering city from a new angle.
Ellis Island, originally the gateway to New York. Over 12 million immigrants from far flung corners of the world passed through the island between 1892 and 1954 and, if they weren't lucky, maybe spending a few weeks at the detention and deportation prison. "Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free" indeed.
The best way to visit Coney Island
American Watercolour Society at the Salmagundi House,
Cronut Time, one of Hollie's highlights and a massive calorie intake to help us walk round Manhattan. Proof that Tom actually bought himself something in a shop, must have been a rush of sugar to the head,
Dead in the middle Little Italy little did we riddle with two middle men who didn't do diddly
Lower East Side, more street art and tributes to fallen legends MCA, Joe Strummer, Charlie Parker and Cecil the Lion. LES has a proud history and is an impressive melting pot of cultures and ideas.
Last stop, over the bridge into Queens. Home of Nas and the famous 5pointz graffiti building sadly knocked-down in 2014.
Once again, huge shoutout of thanks to Silky and Hannah for putting up with us for so long, legends! We owe you a few Pork Slaps and Froyos!
