Collombatti

After a great week in Sydney (more on that to come) we took the faithful Greyhound up the east coast towards the Queensland frontier and our new career as horse-whisperers.

Destination: Collombatti Farm where we were to volunteer for the next three weeks. Our goals here were to learn something about animal husbandry, plant-growing and house-building in tropical hot conditions and, of course to extend our trip down under!

A tiny farm by Australian standards, it would be better described as a fully functioning menagerie. Aside from breeding Clydesale & Gypsy horses and Bengal cats (not together), bee-keeping, and teatree oil production we were greeted by dogs, house-cats, chooks, piglets, guinea fowl, ducks and raucous peacocks strutting their stuff.

No mains water out here boy so when the rainwater runs out you have to pump the dam. Beautiful view over the teatree fields and surrounding forest.
